Smart Code is a desktop coding workspace. This page explains the app’s local data, optional Google sign-in, and connections to AI providers.
Your local workspace
Projects, conversations, contacts, plans, and work history are stored on your computer. The app does not automatically synchronize them to a Smart Code account or server. Backups and deletion of local files are under your control.
AI providers
When you message a contact or approve work, relevant conversation context and requested project content are sent to that contact’s selected provider: OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google. Their terms, privacy practices, billing, and retention policies apply. API keys are encrypted using your operating system’s keyring and are not included in messages to other AI contacts.
Optional Google sign-in
Google sign-in requests only your basic identity: OpenID, email, and profile. It verifies your identity and shows a local profile. Tokens are stored encrypted with the system keyring. Sign-in does not grant Smart Code access to Gmail, Drive, or other Google content. It does not enable cloud synchronization. You can sign out in the app and revoke access from your Google Account settings.
Project tools and commands
Planning tools can read selected project content. An approved plan permits implementation tools. Commands run with your operating-system permissions and are not an OS sandbox. Review permissions, scripts, and changes for projects you do not trust.
This launch site
This website distributes information and application downloads. Its hosting providers may process routine connection metadata such as IP addresses and access logs. This site does not provide a browser version of Smart Code or collect project conversations.
